Dave DeCew
Dave DeCew has just completed his sixteenth season at the helm of the men’s soccer program at New England College in Henniker, NH. Over the past sixteen years at NEC, DeCew has compiled a 153-120-32 record and has helped the Pilgrims to the postseason in fourteen seasons. In 2016, he led the team to their best finish in program history as he took the Pilgrims to the NCAA Tournament after winning the North Atlantic Conference Championship. DeCew has been named NAC Coach of the Year twice. This Fall the Pilgrims advanced to the New England Collegiate Conference Semifinals and saw former player Siad Haji get drafted #2 overall by the San Jose Earthquakes in the Major League Soccer Superdraft.
DeCew joined NEC from Babson College in Wellesley, Mass. where he was an assistant coach in both men’s soccer and baseball. In soccer, DeCew helped lead Babson to an NCAA berth in 2001, turning around a team that finished 6-11 before his arrival.
DeCew attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine where he played both varsity soccer and baseball. In soccer, DeCew was a NSCAA First Team All-American and a NESCAC First Team member. In baseball, DeCew was NESCAC Player of the Year, ECAC All New-England and received the NCAA Batting Crown.
Associate Director:
Paul Vazquez
Vazquez has recently completed his eleventh season at the helm of the women’s soccer program at New England College in Henniker, NH. Over his tenure he has led the Pilgrims to over 100 wins, finishing the 2018 campaign with an impressive run all the way into the Newe England Collegiate Conference Championship match for the third time in the past four years.
Prior to taking over the women’s program at New England College Vazquez served as an assistant coach with the New England College men’s soccer program. Over those four seasons Vazquez helped lead the Pilgrims to an overall record of 40-27-7, four straight TCCC post season appearances and an appearance in the ECAC New England Tournament. Vazquez also serves as an assistant men’s ice hockey coach at NEC.
Paul currently holds a USSF B license and an NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma. Vazquez is a graduate of Canisius College where he was a two- year member of both the soccer and the ice hockey team.
